Preparing Easter treats is not all dependent on taste and recipe. It depends basically on the decorations as many colors and much candy are required. That makes homemade Easter treats an easy job. Just pick some types and recipes to try, or any recipe you know from your kitchen, your mother or friends; and start the creation.
Use chocolates in different colors, decorative sugar dough, colorful candy eggs, colored sugar powder and creams for any type of treats. You can bake your favorite cookies or crispy rice treats with some flavored cupcakes and even tarts or cakes.
Begin the task with shaping the treats. For example, divide the cake/tart into equal sized portions and then cut for two or three pieces, and decorate with thin layer of cream with candy pieces on top. You can do the same with toasted, thin cake layers. Your kids will love it.
Buy crispy rice cereals, or oat meal packets from the market and use little amount of flour with slight amount of milk and honey to make the cereals shapeable ‘but not tender’. Shape into balls and quickly bake them in the oven until they crisp. Some would use sticky syrup to shape them, some would want them shaped into cupcakes with fruit pieces or chocolate inside; any recipe will generate tasty cereal crisps.
The same recipe can be used to make bird nests, but in that case you will need sweet sticks, and if you can’t find them in candy stores, you will find similar shapes in the bakery as they are usually eaten with cheese and milk.
