Homemade Alfredo Sauce

I’ve probably tried several sauce recipes, but my favorite types were those which contain more than one types of cheese. This homemade alfredo recipe is made with creamy cheese, parmesan and any other type you desire. The more intense flavored cheeses you use, the more you get a rich, irresistible taste. This homemade alfredo sauce recipe also makes a very good meal for kids who don’t like to eat often, so you may serve it with pasta, chicken and vegetables as a nutritious, tasty option.

Homemade Alfredo Sauce Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of butter
  • 2 tbsp of flour
  • 2 ½ cup of milk
  • 1 cup of cream cheese
  • ¼ cup of cooking cream “thin or thick, whatever”
  • 1 cup of grated parmesan
  • ½ cup of grated cheddar, romy or ricotta if possible
  • 3 tsp of garlic powder
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • ½ tsp of ground pepper
  • 5 tsp of chopped parsley or watercress

Homemade Alfredo Sauce Preparation:

Boil the milk while melting the butter and stirring in the flour. Stir the flour for 1 minute or more before adding the milk. Whisk the flour and butter while slowly pouring the boiled milk until the whole amount is mixed and no lumps form in the liquid. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder and cheeses then whisk again away from heat until you get a fully smoothed, thick liquid. Only then stir the sauce on medium heat for a few minutes until the hard cheeses melt and the sauce gets thicker.
