The southern cuisine is famous for its rich-taste foods and surely the southern coleslaw is one of these elegant, delicious dishes. This southern slaw recipe is a new version that is a bit different from the classic recipe followed by the south folks.
– 1 small head of green cabbage.
– ½ small head of red cabbage.
– 2 medium carrots, peeled and grated.
– 1 medium shallot, minced.
– 1 medium red bell pepper, diced.
– 1 cup of mayonnaise.
– ¼ cup of cooking cream.
– 2 tbsp of white vinegar.
– 2 tbsp of lemon juice.
– 1 tsp of sugar.
– salt and pepper.
Mix the slaw ingredients together in a salad bowl then set aside.
Dissolve the sugar in vinegar and lemon juice mix then add the seasoning. Add the mayonnaise and stir until well blended, then finally add the cooking cream.
Toss the dressing over slaw mix until the ingredients are covered in mayonnaise.
Chill the salad before serving.
